I asked last week for songs and albums from the CBMA artists to be considered for award nominations this year. I didn’t get as many as I thought I would. Here are some that I did get, with comments from the artists and fans. I removed the email address and contact info and just provided the information as submitted. I did remove some of the submissions that were not serious about the form… even thought I got a good laugh on them. The song has to be recorded to make this list below.. There are other requirements by CBMA to be eligible for nomination. I left a few on here that might not be eligible.

Hi..I’m Mitch Simpson of the Summerdaze Band and we are all members of the CBMA. This is our second CD released this past February 2014 on the KHP label. Our CD release party was at the Spanish Galleon in NMB. Something Fried has received considerable radio play and the follow up song, “Somebody Throw’d Bad Luck on Me” is moving up a lot of charts quickly. We are told that a third from this CD “Shoot that Moon” will hit the charts soon. We have been playing since 2005. Our first CD was “All Summer Long.” Since 2005 we have played mainly private parties and festivals across the southeast and only a few clubs this past year with more scheduled! Thank you for your help in getting the word out. |

This is a great song…very reminiscent of when beach music was in it’s “Hay Day”. When ever I hear this it gets stuck in my head for days…great song to shag to and the BigTime Party Band should be commended for writing, and performing, such an excellent song…

Amazingly Amazing was released to beach radio on 8/1/13 and has been on beach radio charts since Sept 2013. It claimed the #1 spot on several beach radio charts including Ted Bell’s top 20 countdown and was #1 on the Smokin 45 chart for jan 2014 giving Lesa the distinction of being the first local female vocalist to claim the #1 spot. Amazingly Amazing was also selected on the ABSDJ top 50 list for 2013. The song currently remains on the smokin 45 chart top 20 and other charts and continues to get airplay on beach radio everywhere.

I’m Gonna Be Your Friend was on Ted Bell’s Top 20 Countdown for an impressive 34 weeks total and was #1 for 3 weeks. It was also #2 on Teds annual year end countdown. It was on Cashbox Top 40 for several weeks.

This is such a great song- it tells a story that so many young adults shared. Great rhythm and beat for shagging! This band gives their all to their fans and always deliver. It is apparent they enjoy and appreciate their fans and have a love for good wholesome music that can be heard by all age groups.
