You know what that means… HUMP DAY! I am amazed about how much that is caught on with everyone. I do love that commercial. I get web traffic every Wednesday because of a post I added over a month ago to Beach Music Online. I love to see the traffic come from Google for “Guess what day it is“.. even though the info is dated a month ago.
I try to watch what pages get traffic.. being that this is a blog, pages get outdated due to posting about current events during that time. My CBMA Posts and Nominations from 2010, 2011 and 2012 are still being seen. Here is the nominations for cbma 2013 as announced last Friday from 94.9 The Surf and the CBMA.
Shakin the Beach
Well SOS Fall Migration is behind us.. and the BIG Celebration of the Shakers 35th was last Friday.. but more is coming for the Shakers and Mid-Winter SOS will be here before you know it! Parties in Greensboro, Spartanburg, Hamlet, North Myrtle Beach and Columbia have been announced for the Fantastic Shakers 35th Celebrations.
There are a lot of things being worked on and planned by the bands and clubs and promoters that I am working with…. so stay tuned and be watchin’ the website, your email inbox and maybe even your text messages on your phone.

The Castaways are in Raleigh at TJ’s Night Life on Thursday Night the 26th.
Hip Pocket is in Greensboro at Thirsty’s 2 on Friday night the 27th.
Sea Cruz is in North Myrtle Beach at Fat Harold’s Beach Club on Sunday the 29th.

CBMA Nominations Note
I am very honored to once again be nominated for the Michael Branch award. To all those that nominated me, THANK YOU! I love working in this crazy industry we call Carolina Beach Music and it feels good to get recognized this way.. There are a lot of shout-outs I need to make about the other categories, I will probably create a post about that tomorrow or the next day. I am very proud to be working with many of the bands, clubs, promoters, artists and events that were nominated for this year’s awards.
I do have to focus on one – and that is Shag City USA – A couple of years ago, Keith Houston and I with our partnership in the Southern Soul Network decided to enter into a partnership with Jeff Gilder and Zeus Radio for Shag City USA, making it the Home of Southern Soul Radio and the Carolina’s Beast Beach Music. We have seen tremendous growth during these 2 years with listeners in 49…. yes 49 states.. (Wyoming finally buckled under pressure and we now have listeners there as well). We are still having issues reaching the South Dakotans, but we will keep playing it until they are able to find the music we play. Shag City USA was nominated for “Best Internet Radio Station” by the CBMA Industry and Academy on the first year of the category. Thanks to all that listen to the station! Members start getting their ballots next week. Don’t forget to vote if you are a CBMA Member!
