Friday Night August 29th, head to Thirsty’s 2 in Greensboro for the second night of Grayson Hugh with Jim Quick & Coastline. Don’t miss it if you are anywhere close. Thirsty’s 2 is the place to see beach music in the Triad.

North Myrtle Beach Show

If you are not playing golf with us in Little River on Saturday, then plan to listen to the interview Grayson Hugh had with Jim Quick during the recording of The Crossover with Jim Quick. The show starts at 1PM.

Saturday Night.. the afterparty for the 3rd Annual Coastline Classic kicks off at the World Famous Spanish Galleon. Jim Quick & Coastline teams up with Grayson Hugh once again for the third night of the tour.. Saturday Night August 30th.

Okay I just posted some suggestions for albums and collaborations to be considered for the CBMA ballot this year.

There is a lot on the web, mostly facebook about suggestions from the bands and fans on who to nominate and vote for this year’s CBMAs. Some you may agree, some you may disagree.

If you were the only one picking the winners.. Who would you give the award for best Beach Music Male Vocalist? Female Vocalist? Instrumentalist? Group? Entertainer? Rising Star? Mobile and Club DJ? FM Radio DJ? AM Radio DJ?

Nomination Ballots – CBMA

I received my nomination ballot in the mail. I am honored to be part of the CBMA and get a chance to nominate who I think deserves to be recognized for what they have done this past year in the Beach Music Industry. There is always questions about who is eligible and who is not. There are a lot of songs that are eligible that you may not know about. I put the opportunity out there for artists and fans to suggest songs and albums for consideration. I have an extensive amount of emails that were notified about the form link posted on Shag City and Beach Music Online. This was a great opportunity to get the word out. I did not receive a lot of submissions. You can see what I got listed here on CBMA Considerations. The posting of these songs and albums are not a validation by myself that they are eligible. There is a committee that judges nominations based on the rules. I am just relaying information the best that I can. Good Luck to everyone!

Consider these CBMA Songs and Albums

I asked last week for songs and albums from the CBMA artists to be considered for award nominations this year. I didn’t get as many as I thought I would. Here are some that I did get, with comments from the artists and fans. I removed the email address and contact info and just provided the information as submitted. I did remove some of the submissions that were not serious about the form… even thought I got a good laugh on them. The song has to be recorded to make this list below.. There are other requirements by CBMA to be eligible for nomination. I left a few on here that might not be eligible.

First Beach Music Show?

My First Experience

I am pretty sure the first beach music artist I saw live in person was the Band of Oz in Raleigh. I seem to remember seeing them at a corporate function that I was working at when I was in college. At the time, I don’t think I knew it was beach music, but learned the term Beach Music a few years later and got hooked.. on the music, the fun and the bands. I think I became a Coastline Crazy before Jim Quick started using the term and look back to the many Coastline Band shows I have attended over the years. I was so excited to see the Beach Music Online Page on Facebook hit 5000 likes this morning. I have been pushing it along with the help of Jim Quick & Coastline and the Band of Oz to get to this big milestone of 5000 Likes. I realize not everyone in the beach music world is on facebook. I have had to urge several to jump on board and take advantage of the exposure on the biggest social network on the planet. The marketing and traffic I get from facebook is a big deal. We have reached tens of thousands with posts and images that we have added to the site.
