What makes the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center so highly regarded is the warm, intimate, family atmosphere that the employees create. The staff here has the unique ability of being able to make having cancer and receiving treatment bearable.
Our focus at the Shepard Cancer Center is centered not only on the treatment of cancer, but also the aspects of everyday life of our cancer patients. We want to share love, give hope, and show unending compassion for all of our patients as they fight this horrible disease. One avenue that helps us accomplish this goal is through a variety of complementary therapies and services to help those touched by cancer to deal with both the emotional and physical challenges associated with this disease.
Although we are very excited about our complementary therapies, we see many other aspects of our patient?s lives that need assistance. Our patient?s are strained financially from added prescription medications and travel expenses that add up quickly and make paying regular household bills an impossible task.
The staff of the MLSCC are inspired daily by their patients strength and positive attitude in their fight against cancer. This motivated the staff to create a fundraiser to raise money that would directly impact the lives of their patients. They hope they have designed an event that will appeal to the entire community. A beach music dance is a way we can all have a great time raising money for people who deserve a little extra sunshine!
