Yeah it was a little hot

The 5th Annual Flem Whitt Fest was a great show. It was a little hot out there, but it is August. Maybe we need to figure out a way to have it IN the lake instead of ON the lake.

Craig opened the show with “America, the Beautiful” Ray Charles-style at 12 Noon, the songs and talent continued to come out all day. It was good to see a lot of people that I have not seen in a while. Craig! Those horns are sounding good Man!

Band of Oz pulled up in the newly wrapped RV. Look for the Band of Oz on the road.I was happy to see Hicks pull up, I was ready for a little AC. Knowing the right people does have its perks sometimes….

After Craig and The Band Oz, Jim Quick & Coastline jumped up on the stage and kept the show going. So glad they did not show up in the suits for Saturday’s show. Jim may have passed out before he got to sing SWEAT!

It was good to see Lia Long and Rhonda McDaniel take the mike for a few songs.

The Fantastic Shakers closed out the show with another great performance.

Thank you Roxboro Jaycees for another great year. You would probably be surprised how few beach music events actually cover their expenses. This one has done well every year. I know the scholarship money raised from the event will be appreciated.

Hope to be there again next year for the 6th Annual Flem Whitt Fest.
